Strider knives are a joke1/4/2024 ![]() They either bought a knife they wanted and now have, which shouldn't be a problem or were speculating they could flip and make a bunch of money off others, which though a problem I don't care-it's called speculating for a reason. As for the customer though I don't have a great amount of sympathy. There would have been nothing wrong with making such a move, but that is not what their press release implied. They indicated something more dramatic was happening. If they are still manufacturing under the Strider name or even the MSC name and doing the same production with the same crew, it would not look good for the company or the owner at all IMO. ^^^ There are certainly aspects of this that don't seem to be what they said was going to happen. No longer a fan due to really crappy business ethics. They lied to their base and wont be getting any money from me in the future. Just thought I should put this out there. "What happened to "25 and out" and "last knives will be sold at blade show"? Just wondering if it was all a rouse?"Īfter a week or so there is still no response to my last question. I was really hoping there was a way around all the crap but after this response I have already sold some of my knives and am no longer a fan. I have been a blind fan of strider products for several years having been new to "expensive" knives. We are still making knives and we will still warranty all of our knives Josh's Response (I was really surprised to get a response): Are you still producing knives? Change in location, owner? Any info would be great. "Can you let me know what the future of strider knives is? There is lots of speculation on the forums so I thought I would just shoot you and email directly. Ok, so I know its been a couple weeks since anyone posted on this thread but I got a response to an email I sent to Josh at Strider. Questionable marketing aside (and also long past?), his designs and work speak for themselves and the fact that he continues to stand by his products is worthy of at least some merit, IMHO. Regardless of whatever BS happened because of a thread posted over 10 years ago, my brief experiences with him show he's a pretty decent human being. Can't help but wonder about whatever double standards may or may not be at play here.Īlso there were a few other respected people involved in this situation and putting it all on Mick doesn't seem very cool to me. With all due respect, I can't help but wonder if you'd be responding this way if it was any other maker involved. If that makes me a degenerate POS, then so be it I guess. Considering how much counterfeits hurt our knife community and industry, I love the way they handled the situation. Considering how lax enforcement of counterfeit laws are, I can't imagine many better ways to have handled this situation, besides maybe mentioning the whole incident to BLADE organizers so as to make sure that the vendor is never welcomed back.
