The little theatre of winston salem1/2/2024 ![]() Quite the other end of the service spectrum compared to the Winston-Salem Marriott. The person who checked me in went into a room and brought me one. When I checked in, I asked about a luggage cart. Service was professional and outstanding. Note – early in the trip we stayed at Marriott’s Siena Hotel in Chapel Hill, NC. ![]() There was nothing premium about this Marriott and I’m sure the service at a Fairfield Inn would be better. Instead of staying at a Fairfield or Courtyard Marriott, I thought it would be nice to stay in the premium brand. I have to blame the management for this poor service. I think they are the best hotel chain and they’ve given me lifetime Titanium status. I stay in Marriotts a lot, for many years. When we left at 10a, it was in same condition. ![]() The table and chairs were littered with food remnants. My wife took our small dog to the pet relief area at 7:30a on Saturday morning. One lady resupplying but I’m sure doing all the cooking as well. One piece of bacon left, ran out of coffee. Next morning went to the concierge lounge for breakfast. For a steakhouse, not much depth to the menu. Ultimately, we sat at the bar and she waited on us, doing a great job. Asked the other bartender about a hostess and she rolled her eyes and said there wasn’t one. Made eye contact with one bartender, he didn’t offer to help. I went to the Butcher and Bull restaurant in the hotel, saw the “please wait to be seated” sign, dutifully waited at the hostess stand for five minutes. When we came back to the room an hour later, the soiled comforter was still on the floor where we left it and on the “couch” was an assortment of sheets and blankets, no comforter. Called “at your service” to request housekeeping bring us a new one. We had a spill on the comforter in the room. ![]() It was ****s, bushes, “smoker’s poles,” cigarette butts, trash cans, trash on the ground, food scraps and benches. I asked about a pet relief area outside the hotel and was told there was a grassy area. I had called the hotel in advance to insure it was pet friendly. The person who checked me in was very good. We made several trips, my daughter guarding the luggage downstairs while my wife and I carried suitcases and bags and supplies to the rooms. The valet was indifferent, the front desk indifferent. Comic timing essential.0.21km from The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem Three of us traveling for a week arrived at the Marriott on a Friday afternoon, choosing valet parking.
